Simple Circuit Schematic Fire Alarm System using Thermistor and NE555 IC

Eltronicschool. - There are many electronic circuit schematic which be designed for Alarm system application. One of the fire alarm circuit schematic is using the main component that called with Thermistor that will give low resistance when this component is hot. 

Thermistor easy detect the fire and indicate it that suitable with our goal to build simple fire alarm system. With only combine thermistor with other component like transistor, resistor, capacitor, and IC to build oscillator like NE555 IC, we can build our self the fire alarm system simply look like in Figure 1 below.

Description

Circuit schematic like in Figure 1 above is Fire Alarm System using Thermistor and NE555 IC. The major component are needed in this circuit are thermistor and NE555 IC. When sense the fire with the high temperature, thermistor will give low resistance and when no fire or low temperature, thermistor will give high resistance. 

When thermistor detect fire, it will make it becomes hot and it gives a low-resistance and give easy path for the positive voltage +6V to R2 and D1. And output the D1 will be gave to the base of transistor T1 and also to charge up Capacitor C1 with the positive supply voltage and it will increase the the time for which the alarm is ON. 

The larger the positive bias applied to the base of transistor T1 (BC548) when it is gave the larger the value of C1. Then the collector of transistor T1 is coupled to the base of T2, the function of transistor T2 is provide a positive voltage to pin reset of NE555. 

The NE555 IC will produce frequency depending on component resistors R5 and R6 and capacitance C2. This IC will begin generate frequency in it's output pin 3 when reset pin 4 in high condition or get positive source from PNP transistor T2.

To make sound of fire alarm system is loud, the output pin 3 NE555 coupled with base of transistor T3 which drive the speaker to generate alarm sound loud.

How it works

According Circuitstoday site describe how the circuit work as follow that When the battery connected to the charger gets discharged the battery voltage gets dropped.This inhibits the forward biasing voltage from reaching the base of the transistor Q1 through R4 and D2.This switches off the transistor.When the transistor is turned OFF,the gate of SCR (H1) gets the triggering voltage via R1 & D3.This makes the SCR to conduct and it starts to rectify the AC input voltage.The rectified voltage is given to the battery through the resistor R6(5W).This starts charging of the  battery.

When the battery is completely charged the base of Q1 gets the forward bias signal through the voltage divider circuit made of R3,R4,R5 and D2.This turns the transistor ON.When the Q1 is turned ON the trigger voltage at the gate of SCR is cut off and the SCR is turned OFF.In this condition a very small amount of charge reaches the battery via R2 and D4 for trickle charging.Since the charging voltage is only half wave rectified ,this type of charger is suitable only for slow charging.For fast charging full wave rectified charging voltage is needed.

The overcurrent sense circuit makes it possible to reverse the direction of the motor, using normal forward/reverse switch, on the fly and not have to completely stop it before reversing.

Once the above set up is built and switched ON, the coil and the iron pipe could be seen developing heat gradually, and anything placed inside the pipe could be witnessed getting heated up.

If it's water inside the pipe, then it could begin warming up and even reach the boiling point if the coil is optimized correctly through the frequency and PWM adjustments.

The idea behind this small induction heater circuit is simple, it is to force the iron pipe atoms to electromagnetically oscillate at an incompatible frequency resulting in the production of huge amounts of opposing eddy currents and a proportionate amount of heat due to this opposing current in the metal.

Although most devices powered by Nokia batteries appear to work well at about 4.2 V, a little bit of experimentation with the values of resistors R2-R3-RP1 may be necessary. As stated earlier, the 82-kΩ resistor (R4) is essential to fooling the device into thinking that a real battery is attached at its battery connector.

How it works

According Electroschematics site describe that this transmitter is basic but allows transmission of audio to an AM radio. It consists of an RF oscillator operating in the AM broadcast band, together with a modulator stage, which mixes the incoming audio and the RF. A signal appears on the output, which has an AM component that can be picked up on a nearby AM radio receiver.

The transmitter' part consists of modulator/buffer stage Q2 and oscillator stage Q1. Q1 is biased via R1, R2, and R3. L1, C3, and C4 form the tank circuit with feedback network C3-C4 providing feedback to the emitter of Q1. RF voltage at the junction of C3 and L1 drives buffer/modulator stage Q2. Q2 is biased by base current produced by RF rectification in the base emitter junction of Q2. C6 is an RF and AF bypass capacitor. C9, C10, and L2 form the tank circuit for the collector of Q2. RF is taken from the junction of C9 and C10 and fed to a short-wire antenna. Audio is fed to modulator Q2 via C8 and isolation resistor R5 and mixes with the RF signal in the collector circuit of Q2, producing a signal that has sum and difference frequencies if the RF carrier and AF input  along with the carrier signal.

The current through resistor R8 gives the base current to transistor T5. Where transistor T1, T2 and T3 from the over and under-voltage cut-offs. For avoiding noise capacitor C2 with resistor R10 form a loss-pass filter and also give sufficient time delay. Here the resistor network (R11, R12, VR1) are used as current sensor. Where Diode D3 is as rectifier and capacitor C1 is used as noise filter of switching circuit.
